Adoptee Search for
Baby Boy G
Hello,
My name is Kelly and I am the birth mother of Baby Boy G,  born March 2, 1982 Ottawa Ontario, Canada. I have  created this web page in the hope my birth son or his adoptive family might be searching for me and possibly find me.  I know this is a shot in the dark, but with the advantages of Internet, you just never know what might happen.
My birth son has always been in my thoughts. Not a day has passed when I haven't worried for his well being, hoped he is having a good life and that his adoptive family loved and cared for him as I would have, if I had had the opportunity. The day of his birth is as clear to me as yesterday was. Every birthday I light a candle and send all the love I have to him. His birth and adoption is something that has effected every part of my life. The hole that was left, the blank space and unspoken worry has never been diminished.
Many folks are under the assumption that birth mothers simply  "get on" with their lives and forget the child they left behind. Birth mothers are rarely counselled or supported through their grief process and are expected to be silent. It is the silent shame that society and families impose that make the experience of giving a child up for adoption one of everlasting sadness and grief. This grief is very similiar to the grief experienced by persons who have lost a child through death or have a person "missing" in their life. The only difference is that birth mothers are not supported through their grief, but mostly ignored and forced to bury their emotions.
I have included on this page all of the information I have about my birth son, including some about his adoptive family. This is commonly referred to as "non-identifying information" by agencies. I have no desire to interfer with my sons adoptive family or his life. I was aware at the time of his birth and everyday since that a reunion with my son might never happen. Perhaps the adoptive parents have never told him he was adopted, or he has no interest in finding me. But I can hope...because that's all I've had for the past 19 years. Hope. And if by chance he or his family find this page, but do not wish to contact me, they will know this: I love you and hope you've had a good life. If given the option, I would have kept you and raised you myself....and last but not least, Thank You to his adoptive family. Thank You for giving him everything I could not.
Have faith,
Kelly
